"Slavery's Buried Past"
with Host Bill Kurtis
Retained as a history consultant, Donna Wyant Howell did research for and had cameo audio roles within the PBS Special “Slavery's Buried Past” that premiered nationally in the US and continued to be rebroadcast on various PBS stations and on other stations internationally.
The program was hosted by Bill Kurtis of Kurtis Productions, Ltd. as part of the Peabody Award-winning series named “The New Explorers”. In keeping with the theme of providing additional pieces to the understanding of African American history, the show's producers included segments from the first four books of I WAS A SLAVE.
